A vineyard, a land.

Vecchie Terre di Montefilii is located in Panzano, a village in the heart of Chianti Classico. From its first vintage, in 1979, this small estate was recognized for its excellent vineyard sites and great potential.

Over the years, through a strong commitment to sustainable vineyard management and a desire to promote and produce superior Sangiovese, a great synergy has developed between soil and vine. This dedication to quality combined with the rocky, schistous galestro soil and high altitude produce unique and recognizable wines year after year.

Today, the Sangiovese of Vecchie Terre di Montefili, with the addition of a small amount of old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon, offers a clear and vibrant expression of terroir and of the harmony between man and nature necessary to to make extraordinary and honest wines.

Produced from our younger Sangiovese vines, this wine shows its unique character in a pleasant freshness and herbal quality. It is vinified in stainless steel and aged 18 months in 30 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels. It is our most approachable wine when young.

Our Riserva is produced from 100% Sangiovese selected from our best vineyard sites. It is vinified in stainless steel and aged in large Slovenian oak barrels for 36 months. This wine is renowned for its structure, spicy notes and minerality. While elegant young it has the potential to age.

Made from a blend of our Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is an expression of the full potential of a Montefili harvest. Pleasant with good structure it combines the two souls of the estate, the Sangiovese tradition with all its freshness and complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon.

100% Sangiovese from the historic ANFITEATRO vineyard, planted in 1975, this wine represents  Vecchie Terre di Montefili’s journey throughout its history. A wine of great structure and complexity, it embodies all the best characteristics of Sangiovese growns on galestro soil at high altitude…

A Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon that is unique and recognizable because it fully expresses the Montefili environment. In its great complexity, thanks to this vineyards old vines, it unleashes structure and softness without sacrificing  the freshness that the altitude and the galestro soil give it.

A small production that comes from vines planted in 1985. It’s a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, a fresh wine with a pleasant acidity and a very personal aroma.
